Everyone likes to receive. Whether it’s a retweet, Hershey’s, or thank you, receiving is fun. But sometimes it’s necessary.
My wife and I have a baby monitor that tells us when our son needs our attention. It lets us know when we need to wake up and get going. Whether it’s 2:00 pm or 2:00 am, this baby receiver grabs our focus.
Did you know we have a spiritual receiver that grabs our attention? The ancient sage writes:
My son, if you receive my words, and treasure my commands within you… then you will understand the fear of the LORD, and find the knowledge of God. (Prov 2:1, 5)
Where are these words? They are found in the Bible, which is God’s Word. Reading and accepting the truths in Scripture is how we receive wisdom. The Bible is one way God grabs our attention. In His Word, He gives us knowledge, encouragement, and correction.
Do you have access to a spiritual receiver, the Bible?
